BAKE EVERYTHING PUMPKIN

Now is the time to bake everything pumpkin. From breads, to pies, to cookies, to candy, to coffee, pumpkin is IN. We love The Bitter Side Of Sweet’s pumpkin popcorn balls. They’re perfect for children and adults this season.

INGREDIENTS

6 cups popcorn
1 (8 oz.) bag pumpkin spice marshmallows
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup chopped pecans.

INSTRUCTIONS

In a large microwavable bowl. Melt marshmallows for 1 minute on high.
Stir. Then add in cinnamon and stir again.
Add in popcorn and stir.
Coat hands with cooking spray or butter and roll popcorn into balls.
Sprinkle with pecans and ENJOY!

 The power of the spots is immediate: They can make the laziest outfit seem intentional. As mentioned in our previous blogs, 70’s Boho fringe is here to stay. Look for fringe on jackets, handbags, ankle boots, blouses, skirts, and even jewelry. You can take the look further and update your “do” with a 70’s shag haircut and fringe bangs, one of this Season’s top trending hairstyles. Start your “Boho” look with Hale Bob’s orange short sleeve shirt with fringe, AC Collection’s flare jeans, Topshop’s floppy wool hat, and fringe leather handbag from Rebecca Minkoff. Accessorize your style with unique feather fringe earrings from designer Fiona Paxton or a metal fringe leather cuff from Cynthia Desser. Carry your “Boho” look into the evening hours with BCBGMAXAZARIA’s elegant gold fringe collar necklace paired with the Henna embossed fringe and leather  clutch. However you choose to style, be sure to include a little “Boho” fringe into your wardrobe collection this Fall.

  

MARSALA

It’s wine with everything this Fall. Named the Pantone 2015 color of the year, “Marsala” is this Season’s most popular Autumn hue. From Monique Lhuillier to Rebecca Minkoff to Oscar de la Renta, the runways were buzzing with this color of choice for Fall fashion. Not only can you add a “Marsala” top or skirt to your wardrobe collection, but also look for the color in makeup and beauty trends. The next time you go for a mani/pedi, go with the look and ask for Butter London’s “Afters Patent Shine” nail lacquer. Or try a natural, “minimalist” makeup paired with a bright “Marsala” colored lipstick from Bobbi Brown. Looking for a hair color change? Ask your stylist about incorporating a hint of “Marsala” highlights to your natural color or take the plunge and go for an all over dye. Subtle or bold, be sure to include 2015’s color of the year to your beauty style.

  

JEWEL TONES

A second color trend for Fall 2015 is bright jewel tones like emerald green, sapphire blue, and ruby red. From Balmain to Altuzarra to Michael Kors, jewel tones glittered down the runways this Season. Now is the time to bring out your favorite blue sapphire ring or deep ruby earrings to sparkle in style. Accessorize your Fall wardrobe with a classic Dooney & Burke emerald green bucket handbag, Hale Bob’s purple printed silk scarf, or Calvin Klein’s red ankle boots for a splash of color at the office. Spruce up your Fall evening wear by treating yourself to a ruby bracelet from Kay Jewelers or create your own gemstone necklace with your choice of favorite jewels. Switch up your mani and go with Opi’s NEW Fall 2015 Venice Collection of jewel toned nail lacquers from crimson red to deep purple to blue sapphire. Don’t be afraid to live bold and bright this Fall and Winter Season.

  

BLUSH PINK

A third favorite color trend for Fall 2015 is soft, blush pink. In contrast to bright “Marsala” and bold jewel tones, powder pink is the perfect counterbalance. Incorporate the look into your daily beauty routine with Too Faced’s “Boudoir Eyes” eyeshadow in soft pinks, a sweep of Nars‘ iconic glittery pink blush, and Dior’s Addict luscious pink lip polish. Brighten up the dreariest days ahead with Liberty Garden’s new powder pink pleated sweatshirt paired with Hale Bob’s ivory suede leggings and powder pink ballerina flats from Tod’s. If pink is a little too “girly” for your taste, try accessorizing with a Saint Laurent mini “Paris” clutch, delicate tourmaline stud earrings from Anthropologie, or a warm scarf from Missoni.

  

ANKLE BOOTIES

If you only add one new piece to your wardrobe collection this Fall, choose the ankle boot. From wedge, to fringe, to oxford, to fur trimmed, to vintage, the ankle bootie is your “go to” shoe of the Season. With just the right accessories and style, your ankle boots are versatile enough to take you from work to play to cocktail hour. Try Calvin Klein’s “Charlaine” wedge ankle boot for classic style and all day comfort. Go “Boho” with Steve Madden’s fringe suede “Countryy” pointy toe booties or vintage with Phillip Lim’s “Harleth” lace-up bootie. One of the newest styles to hit the runways this year is the Loafer bootie. We loved Opening Ceremony’s marbleized loafer booties on the runways from Fall Fashion Week 2015. Get a similar look with the “Zan” black leather loafer bootie from Opening Ceremony at Nordstrom or go with Tod’s slip on loafer boot with trending “Marsala” ombre color. There are a variety of patterns, colors, and shapes to choose from as you shop your favorite ankle boot style.

STEP INTO FALL

 

It’s officially the Fall Season now. Time to trade in your sandals and flip flops for boots and Fall Footwear. While I think I’m fully stocked with boots for the Season, I may have to get out and shop some of the newest boot trends this Season. Just the other day, I was wondering what chic Fall flat shoes I should start wearing instead of my sandals that I casually slip on for quick errands out. This took me on a search for the latest trends and fashions for Fall Footwear.  THE BALLERINA FLAT

I think this is one of the best Fall Fashion Footwear flat styles trending this Season. While I usually prefer shoes with heels, this is a perfect solution to my search for a chic flat Fall shoe style. The Ballerina flat is comfortable yet stylish at the same time, and pairs perfectly with jeans and a sweater for errand day, or a chic tulle Ballerina skirt for dinner out. One of my favorite brands of Ballerina flats comes from Tieks by Gavrieli, the most versatile designer flats in the world, made from the finest Italian leather and can fold into your purse or pocket. Tieks Ballerina flats are also the perfect solution for those late night after parties when your feet are killing you from your heels and you need something comfortable yet still stylish to change into. OVER-THE-KNEE BOOT

I already have knee high boots, but I may have to get out and shop Fall’s latest footwear trend- the over-the-knee boot. I love these boots because they give an edgier look than regular boots, and are very versatile, pairing easily with your Fall Wardrobe that you already have in your closet. Found with heels or flat, the over-the-knee boot can be paired with your favorite Hudson skinny jeans, leather jacket from Revolve, and wool scarf as seen above, or you can pair with a plaid shirtdress, trending for Fall. The over-the-knee boot can easily transition to evening by pairing with your favorite little black dress from Bebe, one of my favorite shops. LOW HEELED BOOTIE

Another option I love for flat shoes for Fall Footwear is the low heeled bootie. This boot is great for chillier weather or rain and snow days. Your feet will stay warm and dry, yet still chic and stylish. I already have a few high heel booties in my closet, but I’m going to try the flat bootie style this Season. They pair easily over skinny jeans or leather leggings, or can pair under your favorite Hudson baby bootcut jeans or AC Collection’s “Rihanna” wide leg jeans. HEELED CHUNKY BOOTIE

Another one of my favorite Fall Fashion footwear styles this Season, the heeled chunky bootie. This boot is very similar to the low heeled bootie, but gives a slightly more “high fashion” statement to your Fall wardrobe. This is another boot style I have yet to add to my Shoe closet that I will definitely be looking for this Fall. The heeled bootie looks best paired with cropped jeans or tucked into skinny jeans for up-to-date fashion. STRAPPY HEELS

This Fall, update your heel collection with chic strappy heels. I love this new Fall Footwear trend because it makes for an interesting fashion statement with the intricate patterning, lacing, and texture. The great thing about the strappy heel is that you can turn basic T-shirt and jeans into a “runway-worthy” look. You don’t have to spend a fortune on updating your Fall wardrobe this Season, just add a chic strappy heel and you can transform every outfit you already own. The strappy heels go great with this year’s trend of pairing heels with cropped jeans, or elevate the look with your favorite evening wear. BOOTS WITH THE FUR

Who knew that T-Pain’s “Apple Bottom Jeans, boots with the fur” lyrics would become a Fall Fashion footwear trend. I am so glad this boot style is trending for Fall Fashion footwear since I have a few favorite fur boots in my shoe closet. This Season, however, designers ditched the heavy fur and went for fur accents and trims on not only boots but also heels and sandals. House of Holland featured brightly colored heels topped with fur ball accents, DSquared covered their chunky heeled shoes with fur,and Chloe trimmed their sandals with fur lining. Any which style of shoe you prefer this Fall, be on the lookout for fur trimming, sure to keep your feet warm and stylish at the same time. THE EMBELLISHED HEEL

My last favorite Fall Footwear trend this Season is the embellished heel. Designers this Fall gave heels and booties an upgrade by adding intricate ornamentation, baubles, and beading. You can get these Giuseppe Zanotti embellished suede sandals shown above at Net-a-Porter, the world’s premiere online luxury fashion destination. Or if you are on a budget this year, try Benjamin Adams’ bedazzled “Charley” pump at Nordstrom. My personal favorite is a a little gem I found at Nordstrom- MSGM’s pointy toe pump, trendy and chic.

So whether you prefer low heeled or high heeled, bootie or pump, Fall Fashion Footwear has something to suit everyone’s style and taste.
