Awards Season is our favorite time of the year when celebrities show us what will be trending for the upcoming Spring and Summer months. We love seeing our favorite actors and actresses walking the Red Carpet in the trendiest designer fashions and styles. The 2015 Academy Awards last Sunday proved to be not only an entertaining awards show but also an exciting sneak peek into Spring fashion. Designers went for elegance and romance this year with sweeping skirts, delicate lace, and soft pastels. Check out our favorite Red Carpet trends spotted at this season’s Oscars.
CANARY YELLOW
Jennifer Hudson opted for a bold and bright look with her lovely Romona Keveza canary yellow gown. While the style of the dress was very simple with a column silhouette and skinny belt emphasizing her slim waistline, it was the color of the gown that made her stand out in style. Take a cue from the actress this Season and shop for canary yellow clothing to fit your wardrobe this Spring. Go head-to-toe canary yellow with a Trina Turk sheath dress. Or, break the color up with chic canary yellow shorts from Armani and a cool cotton top from Revolve.
BLUSH PINK
One of our favorite colors at this year’s Oscars, trending for Spring, is soft blush pink. This is definitely a color you will want to include in your wardrobe this season. From Zoe Saldana to Gywneth Paltrow to Jennifer Aniston, celebrities embraced their romantic side this Oscar season . Be pretty in pink this Season with a White House Black Market pastel pink shift dress paired with delicate pink Brian Atwood open toed heels and a trendy Betsey Johnson “Be My Bow” clutch. Don’t be afraid to show your romantic side this Spring in blush pink.
CHERRY RED
While it’s always a little chancy to wear all red on a Red Carpet, celebrities from Diane Kruger to Dakota Johnson took the risk and appeared dazzling in head-to-toe cherry red. Go for Diane Kruger’s style with a Hale Bob red silk floor length evening gown paired with elegant Badgley Mischka sparkle leather heels and you’ll feel just like a celebrity. For less formal occasions, we love Hale Bob’s red silk cocktail dress paired with Stuart Weitzman nude sandals and a funky custom made party clutch. Complete your “red hot” look with a swipe of Mac’s “Relentlessly Red” lipstick, a gathered low bun, and you are “Red Carpet” ready for an evening out.
BOLD FLORAL PRINT
As highlighted in our previous blog “Trending Prints in Fashion for Spring 2015,” designers are going for big, bold floral prints this Season, even on the Red Carpet. We loved celebrity Poppy Delevingne’s Emilio Pucci sweeping floral gown at Vanity Fair’s Oscars after party in Beverly Hills. Create your own “celeb” style with Hale Bob’s rust silk chiffon evening gown paired with Topshop’s snake embossed ankle strap sandals and a Michael Kors black clutch. Amp up your makeup with Chanel’s limited edition jeweled colored “Les Intemporels De Chanel” collection paired with a rust red lip for maximum allure.
POLKA DOT PATTERN
One of our favorite patterns trending for Spring 2015 is classic polka dots. Actress Marion Cotillard brought this trend to Oscars Red Carpet in style with a beautiful polka-dot patterned Christian Dior gown. For your own polka dot style, we love White House Black Market’s white polka dot patterned dress paired with Steve Madden’s blush “Krona” heels. For casual days, we love Hale Bob’s polka dot patterned blouse paired with Hudson’s Collin skinny jeans and Kate Spade cap toed heels. Get fun and girly this Season with the polka-dot patterned trend.
PURE WHITE
Celebrities favored iridescent white at this year’s Oscars. While long white gowns are usually reserved for Weddings, designers this Season have updated the look with a sleek modern style. Singer Faith Hill shimmered in a long white beaded gown from J.Mendel. We found Faith Hill’s exact J.Mendel dress available to purchase online at modaoperandi.com. For a more affordable version, we love Hale Bob’s white long sleeved jersey sheath dress paired with glam Badgley Mischka white pumps for an evening out or sporty Chloe cork sandals for on-to-go fun.
COLOR BLOCKING
In our previous blog, “Trending Prints in Fashion for 2015,” we highlighted “color blocking” as a growing trend this Season. “Color blocking” is the art of juxtaposing two colors together in creative, geographical patterns. Several actresses appeared on the Red Carpet this year sporting the trend in style. We loved Patricia Arquette’s classic “color blocked” black and white gown by Rosetta Getty. Create a similar style with Have Bob’s ivory washed silk tank top paired perfectly with Hale Bob’s black satin high low skirt. Throw one a pair of Michael Kors black strappy sandals and you are ready to hit the town.
BLACK LACE
A major trend at this year’s Academy Awards was lace skirts, gowns, and dresses, creating an edgy, romantic feel. We loved Lily Collins’ Zuhair Murad black sheer lace gown and Karlie Kloss’s Versace black lace high low dress spotted at the Vanity Fair Oscars after party. For your perfect black lace “Red Carpet” look, go with Hale Bob’s black floral lace skirt paired with a long sleeved lace top by For Love & Lemons or try a lace halter top by Aiden Mattox. For a more casual style, pair your lace skirt with a chic Alexander Wang embroidered crop top and Jessica Simpson black booties. Either way, you are sure to turn heads this Season.
From bright colors, soft pastels and color blocking, designers this Oscars Season dazzled us with style. Spruce up your wardrobe and get ready for Spring with our top fashion trends of the Season.
