It’s that awkward transition season between Winter and Spring, when the cold winds are still blowing yet the sun warms you during the day. To wear a coat or not? To try that new Spring dress or not? Don’t worry. We have you covered. Our favorite way to transition into the fluctuating Seasons is to layer. Take a peek at our favorite layering fashion finds this week. We show you how to layer in style, without feeling bulky or outdated. While you may want to add a new accessory or jacket for chic layering, many of our favorite layering styles can be found right now in your own closet. See our favorite styles below, and start layering.
FUR VEST
One of our favorite style trends this Season is the fur vest, updated for 2015 in a variety of bright colors. Even on chilly days the fur vest is an easy way to stay warm yet stylish and can easily be paired with your favorite leggings, jeans, skirt, or even floral Spring dress. We love Hale Bob’s red rabbit fur vest layered over your favorite sweater, paired with Hale Bob’s black faux leather leggings. Accessorize with Rag and Bone chunky heeled ankle boots for chillier days and Tory Burch sandals for warmer Spring days.
SLEEVELESS SHIFT DRESS
No need to wait to bring out your favorite Summer shift dresses. Go ahead and pull them out, layering your favorite button up shirt or sweater for chillier days. If the day warms up, simply remove your outer layer and you are ready to soak up the sun’s rays. Pair Hale Bob’s black studded sheath dress with this season’s trendy gladiator sandals from Ralph Lauren, and layer with a fitted white tee and gray James Perse cropped sweater for a stylish, yet warm, layered look for Spring.
CHUNKY KNIT SWEATER
Sweaters are the prefect layering option for fluctuating temperatures during the Spring months. Far less bulky than coats or jackets, you can easily layer your favorite sweater over a tee or button down, or both, to stay warm against the cold breeze. Sweaters can be removed and tied at the waist as temperatures warm. If you are in the market for a new sweater, we love Hale Bob’s gray ombre knit pullover, perfect to layer over a fitted tank or cami. For colder days, pair your sweater with a gingham button down from Bergdorf Goodman paired with your favorite skinny jeans.
SHIRTDRESS
We love the shirtdress for Spring styling. The shirtdress is perfect for warm days paired with chic lace-up wedges from Bergdorf Goodman and a floppy hat for Boho style. For chillier days, pair your shirtdress with black tights and Prada black kitten heels for an evening out. We love Hale Bob’s Cabana silk shirtdress in black and white floral, perfect for Spring fashion. The shirtdress can also double as a swimsuit coverup for a cool day at the beach or pool.
SILK SCARF
Another simple yet effective way to stay warm through the Spring season is to throw on your favorite scarf for layered style. Since we are nearing the end of Winter, trade in your wool scarves for chic sheer silk scarves in a variety of prints and patterns. By simply covering your neck, heat is trapped and allows your entire body to stay warm and cozy without the need of a jacket. We love Have Bob’s purple pattern silk scarf, perfect for layering over your favorite crisp white button down for a day at the office. Or layer over one of your favorite Hale Bob patterned maxi dresses in a variety of prints and multi-colors. This Season don’t be afraid to mix and match patterns and colors. This Spring anything goes.
HIGH LOW LAYERED SKIRT
One of this Spring’s trendiest skirt styles is the high low skirt, seen all over the Runways for Spring 2015 Fashion, and making it’s way into stores everywhere. For a lovely layered look, pair your high low skirt with a fitted tank and a belted sweater like actress Olivia Palermo’s knit from European designer Witchery. We love Liberty Garden’s high low sheer tank dress, perfect for a Spring day or night on the town. For chillier days, fashion your high low dress with an Andean belted fringe sweater paired with chunky Loro Piana ankle booties for a trendy fashionable you.
BLACK LEGGINGS
Take your leggings into Springtime season with lots of fun layering options. For chillier days, pair your Hale Bob black Ponte leggings with a striped long sleeve knit top by Gucci. Go for one of Spring’s hot fashion statements and mix up your patterns by layering over your Gucci striped top, Hale Bob’s blue peacock printed belted sweater, accessorized with classic Jimmy Choo black suede heels and a hot red clutch by designer Judith Leiber. Leggings can also be paired with your favorite sleeveless dress and light sweater, or an oversized sweater tunic and Hale Bob scarf. However you choose to layer this Season, leggings are the perfect choice for endless fashion looks.
BOLERO JACKET
One of our favorite fashion items for layering is the Bolero jacket, a fitted jacket with lapels, easy to dress up or dress down. You can bring out your favorite summer shorts even on cooler Spring days by layering over warm tights or leggings paired with Salvatore Ferragamo ankle boots for daytime fun and Giuseppe Zanotti multi-color heels for nighttime glam. We love Hale Bob’s selection of Bolero Jackets, fitted just to flatter your figure and great for layering over shorts, jeans, skirts, or your evening cocktail dress. If you only add one jacket to your Springtime wardrobe this Season, choose the versatile Bolero jacket.
Fur Vest, Shift Dress, Knit Sweater, Shirtdress, Silk Scarf, High Low Skirt, Black Leggings, Bolero Jacket. With these eight items, there are endless fashion styles for Spring by mixing and matching, layering and combining. This Season, think out of the box, look into your closet, and think creatively for Spring. As the weather fluctuates from cool to warm, with rainy and snow days thrown into the mix, you will always be prepared for the abrupt changes in weather without sacrificing style. Streamline your fashion wardrobe and think “less is more.” Forgo the bulky coats and jackets from Winter style, and look for lighter fabrics to layer that won’t bulge but will still keep you warm. We’d love to hear from YOU our readers on how you plan to “layer” this Spring. Send us your thoughts and start preparing for the Springtime trends.
