Serve a refreshing platter of “Red, White, and Blue” fruit appetizers for your guests to enjoy before the big BBQ. Simple slice bananas and strawberries and serve with fresh blueberries on wooden skewers.

Red, White and Blue Margaritas
Makes: 2-3 frozen margaritas

Ingredients
Strawberry

1 cup ice
1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
3 ounces tequila
2 ounces lime juice
1 ounce Triple Sec or Cointreau
1/2 ounce simple syrup
Original

1 cup ice
3 ounces tequila
2 ounces lime juice
1 ounce Triple Sec or Cointreau

Directions
In a blender, blend together strawberry ingredients and place in freezer while blending all original ingredients. Pour half of the strawberry mixture into a glass and follow with half the original mix. Gently swirl with a straw or spoon. Top with frozen blueberries and a lime wedge.

EASY DIY PATRIOTIC DECOR

For simple yet festive DIY Patriotic decor, use Red, White, and Blue bandanas to decorate the party. You can even have the kids help you out as you make last minute preparations. Simply cut out triangle shapes and glue to a long straw rope to hang above doorways. Glue full sized bandanas together to create a colorful tablecloth. Use the left overs as place settings or napkins tucked into mason jars. Scatter a few American flags around, and you set to go.

GO BOATING

Take a break and get out on the lake or ocean this July 4th. Pack up a picnic and drinks, bring along a few friends, and head out on the water. You’ll want to be sure to wear your favorite festive wear for all day comfort and style. Stay out until twilight, and you just might get to see a firework display out on the “shining sea.”

We get a hint of the new year’s trending fashions by viewing what the designers are dressing their favorite celebrities in and in turn, what the actresses are loving to wear. While this year’s Golden Globes award ceremony provided surprise wins and losses, designers this year played it safe on the red carpet with trending Spring styles from the 2016 runways.  Take a look below see how you can dress just like your favorite actress from this year’s Golden Globes.

BRIGHT YELLOW

Our favorite stunner of the evening goes to Jennifer Lopez in a sunny yellow asymmetrical creation from designer Giambattista Valli.
