As we ring in the New Year, it is time to start restocking our wardrobes and looking forward to Spring fashion. Designers have reinvented many style favorites that we know you will love. Take a peek at the fashions trending on the runways for 2015. We have collected our favorite trends here. Which trend will YOU be trying this year? Comment below. We’d love to hear from YOU.
70’s STYLE
Groovy! The 70’s style jeans are back. While the skinny jeans are here to stay, this Season say hello to the 70’s flare jean for a new and trendy style. Pair flare medium wash jeans with a tucked in button down or fitted tank. Or go all out 70’s style by pairing with a fringe vest and gladiator sandals for the groovy good Spring. Go “far out” in the AC Collection medium wash flare jeans paired with a Michael Kors long fringe vest for some vintage 70’s style.
BIG BOLD FLORALS
As Miranda Priestly says in Devil Wears Prada, “Florals for Spring….groundbreaking.” However, designers from Kate Spade to Carolina Herrera this Season are bringing us a new style of floral- big and bold patterns, some with appliqué flowers for a “3-D” effect as seen in the Michael Kors collection for Spring. This Season, look for big, bold flowers and floral patterning for skirts, dresses, and blouses. You can even place a large sunflower or daisy hair accessory around your ponytail or topknot for a fresh, bold style. Florals can also find their way into the workplace or business lunch with the midi floral skirt, a fun, yet sophisticated way to usher in the beauty of Springtime.
MARSALA
Reminiscent of a luscious fine wine, Pantone has named “Marsala” the “it” color for 2015. From dresses, to pantsuits, to blouses, to lipstick, Marsala hit the runways big this Season from Victoria Beckham to Calvin Klein to Christian Dior. A cross between burgundy and a wine color, Marsala pairs easily with black or camel, or spice things up by pairing with a mustard yellow, electric blue, or forest green for a pop of color. Celebrities like Blake Lively and Iggy Azalea have already taken to the trend by dressing in Marsala from head to toe. Stay is style with Posh at Play’s own Hale Bob Marsala sweetheart jersey dress, short or full length. However you choose to style it, Marsala is definitely your “go to” color for 2015.
BOHO FOR EVENING WEAR
With the arrival of the Music and Arts festivals, “Boho” is always in style for Spring. However, this Season, designers are not just reserving this style for the festivals and beaches, but are bringing the look to nighttime evening wear as well. To get the look, choose one of your favorite “Boho” maxi dresses from the great collection at Hale Bob, and pair with Jimmy Choo’s fun colorful “Visby” strappy heels and glittering jewelry for a hot summer night on the town. Be chic, be cool, be “Boho” this Season.
OUT-OF-THE-ORDINARY ANIMAL PRINTS
In Fall 2014, leopard print was all the rage across runways and into stores, covering shoes, handbags, pants, skirts, and coats. This Season designers are choosing other types of animal prints, from snakeskin to tiger print to jellyfish to sea creatures, and mixing patterns together for a bold, wild look. We love all of the creative patterns seen on the Roberto Cavalli runways this Season. Choose your own “wild style” with the selection of chic Hale Bob “Cabana Wear” tunics and dresses in a variety of bold, tropical animal patterns, perfect for the beach, running errands, or dress it up for an evening out. For a chic “statement” dress, perfect for a picnic or day out on the town, we love Oscar de la Renta’s bright fuchsia dress with a mix of gingham and peacock feather patterning, combing two of this Season’s trendiest styles.
SEXY GINGHAM
Gingham is no longer reserved for the little girls anymore. This Season designers give the “picnic” pattern an updated, “sexy” appeal. From Altuzarra to Diane Von Furstenberg, designers displayed the fun pattern on shorts, swingy skirts, pantsuits, and mini skirts. Take the summer sun with you to work or play with a gingham patterned outfit this Season, updated with a whole new, feminine silhouette, perfect for the new year. We love the Dolce & Gabbana sleek gingham cotton dress, perfect for the office or a ladies lunch out, or the chic Red Valentino gingham romper, perfect for a picnic or errands out and about. Put a little fun in your Spring and Summer wardrobe with gingham this Season.
WHITE LACE
Calling all romantics! Lace is not just reserved for summer weddings anymore. White sheer lace was all over the runways this Season from Marchesa’s flowy dresses to Roberto Cavalli’s sheer lace blouses and vests to Alberta Ferretti’s lace skirts. We love Hale Bob’s silk chiffon lace blouse paired with floral shorts. Accessorize with Steve Madden’s knee-length gladiator sandals, trending for 2015, and Roberto Coin gold key necklace and an Elizabeth and James gold bracelet for a chic romantic touch for 2015. We also love BCBG’s “Anisa” short lace dress, Free People’s “Boho” styled lace swing dress, and Lela Rose’s button front A-line dress.
ATHLEISURE
One of the newest trends this Season is mixing your workout wear with “on the go” fashion style. No need to change out of your sweats after your daily gym workout. Throw on a pair of sandals or chic heels and a fresh Tee and you are ready to hit the streets in style. We also love fashion brands like Uniqlo and Preen fashioning “gym”- styled designs ready for street wear. For a chic “athleisure” style, pair Velvet by Graham & Spencer black leather sweatpants with a Helmut Lang crisp white Tee. Accessorize with Christian Louboutin strappy heels or NEW Adidas Stan Smith wedge sneakers for “on the go” style.
SHEER MIDI SKIRT
Sheer fabrics are a favorite trend this Season. From skirts at Michael Kors to blouses at Paul Smith to pants at Phillip Lim, sheer and see-through are all the rage this year. If you are feeling daring, go for wearing your prettiest lingerie and trunks underneath Spring’s sheer fabrics as seen on the runways and on the New York Fashion week streets. Or go for a just a touch of sheer with Hale Bob’s lace midi overskirt, paired perfectly with this Season’s trendiest style, a lace crop top from Nightcap Clothing and Fendi’s new leaf-back strappy sandals. For a casual look, pair your sheer skirt with an Alice + Olivia drop shoulder knit top and Stella McCartney lace up sandals for a chic, casual style.
