Never since this years controversial debates between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton has there been such a hotly debated topic as whether or not leggings are pants. The parties on each side of this controversy are passionate about their position but we are hoping through this post we can prove to the naysayers that leggings are indeed worthy of being placed in the category of pants. What I ask you is more comfortable to wear then a pair of leggings? They allow the ease of movement of a dress or skirt without the risk of being exposed. They provide the coverage of a jean or pant without feeling binding and restrictive on the body. There are days when I have thrown on a pair of leggings and a sweater and actually forgotten I have anything on (perhaps that’s just me). If styled well they can be dressed up or down and worn for literally any occasion.

This week we celebrate the legging (as pant) with a presentation of our favorite styles which enhance the basic legging with luxurious fabrics and unique flair.

Leather leggings elevate any style. They can make an outfit look sophisticated or just a little edgy depending on your personal styling. Some of our favorite combos for the leather legging are a beautiful oversized cashmere sweater with a pair of killer leopard print stilettos or dress them down with a cute army jacket, t-shirt and pair of motorcycle boots.

Who doesn’t love suede? Suede always looks so rich, smooth and inviting like your favorite vanilla latte. It is almost impossible to resist reaching out and touching this fabric (albeit not always socially acceptable). To me suede equals luxury and it can be worn with everything from a t-shirt (instant chic) to a very tailored jacket with tall boots for the office but our favorite look is paired with a very romantic spun cotton and lace peasant blouse. Date night awaits, there is no way he can resist this look.

Another derivation of this look is the classic suede patch leggings. A touch of the luxe without being to bold at work.

At first thought these leggings may seem a little counter intuitive to the main point of what a legging is supposed to be; simple, streamlined, smooth and they can be a little more challenging to wear if you have wider hips but if paired properly with a light over-sized shirt or fitted jacket they can make for a great addition to your legging collection. WARNING: avoid any chunky, heavy, over-sized sweaters which can make the whole outfit look frumpy.

Leggings for the utilitarian:

Silver Ponte Cargo Leggings
Rowan Cargo Skinnies

These might be the hardest leggings to pull off but they are soooo cute! You see them at the store, you can not resist the impulse buy and then you get home an wonder, now what? Where am I ever going to wear these? The key to pulling off the printed legging is making sure that the entire outfit does not get to busy. The best way to achieve this is with a simple, solid-colored top, avoid a lot of embellishment with jewelry or scarves, let your leggings speak for themselves and supply the pop of color and interest to your outfit without looking garish. Keep it simple!

Just as spring is a time for rebirth, autumn is also considered a transitional season. The weather turns brisk, the leaves on the trees change from dull brown to a firestorm of color,  and darkness settles in a little earlier. For many, it is a favorite time of year, but for others, it can be a trigger to falling off the health and fitness wagon. After all, how can you be expected to ignore pumpkin spice lattes? The key is to set goals BEFORE the new year, not over a drink as the clock strikes midnight.
“Fall … is a great time to start a (health and) fitness program because you’re going to create good habits for the holiday season and the upcoming winter months,” says Justin Price, owner of Biomechanics a personal training and wellness facility in San Diego.
Not only is Fall a good time to plan a strategic exercise regime, but also to change your summer skin care, eating habits, and stress management. Take a look at our four most important “wellness” points you can focus on this Season to help keep you energized, healthy, and happy.

It’s so hard to resist those spicy pumpkin lattes or warm delicious hot cocoas. Well, you can still enjoy your favorite cold weather beverage. Our helpful tips when you are out:
(1) Use milk (3% milk fat) rather than the heftier half-and-half (18% milk fat)
(2) Opt for the “skinny” version, made with skim milk rather than whole
(3) Forgo the calorie rich whipped cream
(4) Order a small, rather than large

Or, make your own at home with our favorite low-cal pumpkin spice latte recipe:
You need:
1½ cups unsweetened cashew milk or other non-dairy milk
1 tablespoon maple syrup
3 teaspoons regular vanilla
¼ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
2 tablespoons pureed pumpkin
1 pack Starbucks VIA instant coffee (or favorite brand)

(1) Place cashew milk, maple syrup, vanilla, pumpkin pie spice and pumpkin a small saucepan and bring to a simmer
(2) Stir in instant coffee
(3) Transfer to a mug and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Enjoy!

While we all look forward to Halloween’s scrumptious candies and the holidays’ luscious turkey, ham, and pumpkin pie, there is a way you can still indulge yet stay trim throughout the entire Season. The key is to not deprive yourself so much that you overcompensate later. We like model Gigi Hadid’s motto: “Eat clean to stay fit, eat a burger to stay sane.”
On your regular days, start with a small healthy breakfast like whole grain oatmeal, fruit, eggs, or cereal to kick start your metabolism. Curb your mid-day slump with a healthy salad of greens and protein. Finish the day off with a light dinner of chicken or fish, and vegetables. Maintain this daily routine on normal days.

When you are out on the town, no need to sacrifice your regime. You can still order your favorites, just order dressings on the side, limit heavy breads, opt for lean meats or salads, and stay hydrated with water. Spending a little extra time on what you eat throughout your normal routine, means you can indulge a little on the special days without “falling off the bandwagon.”

As the warmth of summer’s sun fades and we go into the “hibernation” Season, sometimes our skin takes a backseat to the busy-ness of Fall’s activities. With the crisp cool air, skin can easily lose moisture so it is vital to change your daily skin care regime. Take a look at some of our favorite tips from top designers and dermatologists.

The simplest way to look energetic throughout this busy time of year is to keep your peeps bright and alert. While a comforting facial is always beneficial, we don’t always have the time in our busy schedules. The easiest way to stay fresh is with a quick at-home eye treatment right before you go to bed, or just when you wake up. In addition to reducing salt, hydrating with water, and preventing allergens, these are our favorite “quick tips:”

(1)  CUCUMBERS (containing antioxidants and flavonoids): Place a cool slice on each eye and take a rest for 30 minutes. Afterward you’ll feel nice and refreshed.
(2) RAW POTATO SLICES: They stay cool longer and contain an astringent that helps remove the water from under the eyes. Lay over the eyes and reap the benefits.
(3) WITCH HAZEL: Chill witch hazel (a well-known astringent to reduce swelling and redness) and apply a bit to cotton pad; let sit on closed eyes for 5 minutes.
(4) COLD WATER: Refresh your face with a cool water wash first thing in the morning. If your eyes feel extra puffy, dip a washcloth in cold water, squeeze out excess and lay over eyes.

With the fluctuating weather, it is extra important to slough off dead cells and keep skin hydrated against the Season’s uneven temperatures. Make sure you lather up with an additional amount of non-comedogenic hydration. Instead of relying on chemical ridden products, why not make your own easy nourishing face and body scrub at home to use throughout the Fall months ahead:
In a small bowl mix: One tablespoon of brown sugar
A generous squeeze of honey
A teaspoon of olive oil
Mix until one paste. After removing any makeup, massage this concoction all over your face for a minute or so and then rinse with warm water. (Make a larger quantity for full body exfoliation).

With the new Season comes new beauty trends. Even though the leaves turn darker and the nights come sooner, that doesn’t mean that make-up must follow. This year, counterbalance warmer colors with a fresh-faced, simple make-up care routine you’ll sure to appreciate, especially on those busy days.

And when you DO feel like dressing up a bit, just swipe on this Season’s most glamorous lip colors in power reds, 90’s browns, or liquid berry.

During the hectic Season, take a little time to calm, cleanse, and rejuvenate. Our favorite way is through aromatherapy, the most natural way to release stress. The methods of use are what makes aromatherapy one of the most beautiful and indulgent of all the complementary therapies. From vaporizing, to massage, to bathing, to foot baths, there are so many ways to enjoy the captivating aromas of our pure essential oils.

Our favorite way to relax is vaporisation, the most popular and versatile method of use in Aromatherapy. Once the particles are inhaled, the essential oil vapors may alter moods and balance emotions within seconds.

How to:
Fill your vaporiser with water to the level indicated. Add 6-9 drops in total of pure essential oils to the water and light the candle at the base of a Ceramic Vaporiser or switch on your Electric or Ultra Sonic Vaporiser.

Don’t stop with just your home. You can stay calm throughout the day in your car with lemon infused oils to reduce anxiety and stress or revive during the mid-afternoon  slump with coffee or cinnamon reviving scents.

And finally, end the day in peace with a indulgent warm bath. Bathing is the most beautiful and nurturing method of use in the practice of Aromatherapy. All the senses are engaged in this practice and the mind and body are totally relaxed as the pure essential oils enter the body.

How to:
Add 3 drops in total of chosen oils like Rose or Lavender to one teaspoon of Sweet Almond Massage Base Oil and disperse into bath water. Agitate the surface of the bath and then immerse body and relax for 10 minutes.

The year would not be complete without the celebrations that fill the Season, creating pockets of joy to last a lifetime. No need for extravagance; let nature take over and provide the perfect backdrop for your Fall party. Whether you are planning a Halloween masquerade, gearing up for Thanksgiving, or hosting a casual get-together, go simple this Season.

Fill a glass urn with pine cones and colorful leaves from the back yard or make a centerpiece with pumpkins from your local pumpkin patch. Enhance your house with cinnamon essential oils for a calm environment, and add a couple of plaid throw blankets over chairs. If the weather permits, end your party with an old fashioned marshmallow roasting and snuggle into your warm blankets for an entertaining evening of fun, food, and fellowship.

Added bonus, hosting your own gathering means you get to pull out your favorite party wear, and stay cozy and warm without having to step foot out of the door. Make it easy on yourself by having guests bring their favorite Fall goodies, and stir together a simple apple cider that young and old alike can enjoy.

In this hectic time year, you can find ways to detox and decompress throughout your daily activities. Whether you opt for a “skinny” latte, relax with a natural scrub, overhaul your makeup routine, or calm with essential oils, enter the Season refreshed and revived rather than tired and stressed. Look for ways to get out and enjoy the fresh crisp air and the colorful changes in nature, inspiring you to try a few new things this Fall. This week one of our fashion bloggers is set loose on the streets of New York City to discover and report the latest trends in Fall fashion street wear. What is the common girl on the street wearing to business, lunch, and evening? And how do New Yorkers incorporate fashion into their busy, non stop lifestyles? Let’s discover what’s trending and find out ways you can implement into your Seasonal wardrobe and your lifestyle needs this year.

In preparation for the trip, I ended up packing only one bomber leather jacket. However, I should have followed the chic coat option all of New York is wearing this Season. In the city that never sleeps, women know that an all purpose, durable coat is the way to go for Fall. Lighter than fur or wool, the camel trench coat is one of this Season’s favorite jacket options, suitable paired over your work suit and later with a chic midi dress and over the knee suede boots.

Be FURocious

Being from L.A., I had wondered if “fur” is a taboo touchy clothing piece for Fall so ended up leaving my faux fur vest and real fur jacket at home. That’s not the case here in NYC. Cozy fur vests and coats are all the rage paired over anything from business suits to a day out in Central Park, faux of course for the protection of animals.

And Don’t Forget The Brights

You hear the myth that all New Yorkers only wear black and dark colors, so as to not stand out too much as a tourist, I opted to pack and wear neutral colors only. Boy was I wrong. New York women know how to stand in color, but with a more sophisticated approach. They pair one brightly lit statement piece and accessorize with solid colors and minimal jewelry. Try your black slacks with a bright outer piece to stand out like an “Oh So Chic” New Yorker.

Throw out the “no white” after Labor Day rule, and make your own rules like the New York women do. I tend to always push my white and ivory clothes to the back of the closet for Fall and Winter, but the New York women know that rules were made to be broken. They steer clear of silk and chiffon pieces, in favor of heavier fabrics like wool. I am actually on the look out for a white leather jacket for Fall here in the Fashion District.

Seen outside Carnegie Hall, I liked how she dressed up for the night in a tailored dress and crisp heels for a busy night out on the town.

I’ve always been a bit leery of wearing a barely there silk slip dress during the Fall. But New Yorkers are pairing the slinky silhouette this Season with hardier fare, from tees underneath, to moto jackets, to long trenches. Combine with your favorite ankle boots for downtown shopping style and switch to strappy heels as you head to a Broadway show. Check out this flowy one I found at Bloomingdale’s in the heart of the city.
Need a little romance in your afternoon? Try a glitter knit slip dress paired with a chunky oversized cardigan for a chic and comfortable New York errand running girl. No time for a trip home? Pull slinky heels from your tote and meet friends at Hudson Clearwater hidden restaurant.
Check out the Brooklyn Museum  in a sophisticated black & white slip dress and leather jacket then dine at Saul for a NY evening to remember.

And speaking of ankle boots, they are my “go to” shoes roaming the streets of NYC. As I expected, the streets are covered with every single boot style imaginable, from combat, to suede, to rocker style, to patent leather. My ankle boots were perfect to pair with my leggings all day and with my jumpsuit at night for the ballet. If you only get one shoe this Fall, get the versatile ankle boot.

What a great styling option, suitable for women from young to old. Skinnies are easy to pack and slim the leg on everyone. I brought a variety of these adaptable pants to switch out with different shirt options. How does New York style their skinnies? With an oversized chunky sweater and ankle boots or heels for a night on the town. I just had to head to Macy’s on 34th to grab me a pair of NYC’s favorite.
The vest and skinny work easily for the office or a chill fall NY day. Pair your black lace skinnies with a long sleeve knit top and oversized vest for office days or shimmy into your favorite jeans and satin top and stroll Manhattan for a totally you afternoon.

Since I only took 1 carryon, I had to think about layers while in NYC. How do they keep so warm, especially on brisk windy Fall days? I spotted jeans paired with a plaid long sleeveinfinity scarf, and a chic wool blazer; an A line skirt with long sleeve sweater tucked in; and I myself wore leggings, tight sweater, and warm vest that kept me comfy all night long.

On the go? Shimmy into a pair of leggings, pullover an oversized sweater and slip into to some concrete loving kicks for a busy New York Minute.

No matter how you choose to layer, the ONE item all New Yorkers never go without is a long warm scarf. From Central Park to Broadway to Greenwich, these girls know how to style a scarf. Layer a long draping sweater over a knit top and infinity scarf with your favorite jeans tucked into some serious leather combat boots for a NY City walk about.
So whether you’re in The City to see the sites, taste to food, listen to the music or everything in between. Be sure to dress like a local, but always remember to
Be YOU, Be Fashionable, and ALWAYS Be Feminine.

As the weather cools, it’s time to start “snuggling up” to Fall’s cooler climate. With the first day of Autumn on Thursday, September 22nd, let’s usher in the new Season in a cozy way. This week, we focus on several ways you can “wrap up” in the colorful Season ahead. Take a look at our suggestions below.

Ah, the first few days of Fall. Thoughts of cozy knits and new boots quickly spring to mind. But before you switch over your closet to the heavier threads, consider keeping what is perhaps the single most transitional piece in constant rotation: the wrap dress. Not only is it timeless and all-occasion, it’s seasonless, too—a look that can go easily from day to night, from Summer to Fall.

The trick to properly transitioning the wrap dress is to start thinking in layers. When worn over a slim bodysuit and jeans, a “kimono” version is given new life, particularly when elevated by a great pair of heels.

A swift shoe swap (sturdy boots for strappy sandals) will fare in more challenging climate conditions.

And a lacy slip worn underneath a shirted style takes the look into cocktail territory. But don’t just stop at the wrap dressTake a look at our other “wrapped” Fall ideas you won’t want to miss below.

Get cozy in this Season’s favorite wrapped sweater. We love that you can pair with anything from jeans, to leggings, to skirts, to dresses. The wrap sweater is the perfect transitional cover-up piece which provides just enough warmth for those in-between Fall days ahead.

Wrap yourself with the one you love in a comfy, cozy blanket for Fall. Whether you take a romantic stroll through the forest, picnic on the grassy knoll, or use as a “quasi” Fall coat, stay snuggly warm in your favorite wrap this Season.

Stack your favorite cozy blankets on the couch for a quick cuddle, or for the unexpected guest that decides to stay the night. They will appreciate the gesture and you’ll have easy access to staying warm without having to crank up the heater.

You can also create a warm embracing environment with your own wrapped candle holders. Fall is the Season for sweet cinnamon, spicy pumpkin, and crisp leaf scents from your favorite candle shop. Accentuate your favorite candles with a homemade wrapped decor.

Here’s how:
Simply use a glue gun and run a bead around the candle and affix each leaf. Then, take the ribbon you’ll be using and wrap both the leaves and candle, tying with a droopy bow.

And finally, nothing can keep you as warm as being wrapped up in love. Whether it’s your kids, your partner, or your family, don’t forget to extend your love to the people that mean the most to you.

Check out one of our favorite ways to express your feelings to the one you love most:

However you choose to “wrap” yourself this Fall, be sure to do it out of love. Whether you choose to treat yourself to a new wrap sweater, write your loved one a love poem, or snuggle deep into a warm blanket, now is the time to take advantage of the changing of the Seasons and embrace the changes to come.

Remember, we here at Posh at Play always encourage you to
Be You, Be Fabulous, and ALWAYS Be Feminine.

New season, new you! Much like the first day of the year, back-to-school season is about starting over, wiping your slate clean, relishing beginnings, and all that. That means either reinvention with a complete wardrobe overhaul or, your same look, but enhanced with key purchases. Whether you are actively pursuing “a look” like an ’80s mom aesthetic with a blazer and burgundy midi boots or are splurging on a one hero investment, like a sleek double-breasted coat in preparation for winter or a newly discovered carryall that will last a lifetime, scroll through to find out what you should buy this month, because we definitely are.

Why not “borrow from the boys” with a menswear button down blazer? Whether you choose to steal your partner’s jacket, or find a more tailored style to fit your silhouette, this is an easy way to spruce up your Fall wardrobe with the things you already have in your closet.

Don’t just reserve the menswear jacket for daytime. You can also pair your coat with your favorite dress and sheer tights to keep you warm against Fall’s chilly nights.

Check out our favorite “menswear” style jackets here:
“East Meets West” Taupe Beaded Ponte Jacket
“Bolero” Black Jacket

We found the perfect Fall carryall- a hobo bag is roomy enough to hold an iPad, but not too big that it overwhelms. Mix a deep brown shade with your favorite flare jeans for a subtle style or go with a bright pop of color added to your normal fashion routine. And to top it off, we love that you can buy different types of straps (woven, chain, etc) to match whatever mood you’re in.

Our favorite flare jeans to match the hobo bag with:
1921’s “Distressed” Denim Jeans
AC Collection’s Medium Wash Flare Jeans
Hudson’s “Ferris Flap” Pocket Flap Jeans

All the faded jeans, slouchy overalls, and leggings in your wardrobe simply cannot survive Fall without the help of a cozy long-sleeve knit sweater in a statement color or print. Whether you prefer a chevron, animal, or sequin print, make a statement without saying a word this Season.

Check out our favorite “statement sweater” options you can try:
“Design to Mesmerize” Pink Chevron Sweater
“Sequin” Black Pullover Sweater
“Lucie” Grey Elephant Sweater

And speaking of making a statement, why not try this Season’s favorite jewelry trend. Trade out your delicate, threadbare-thin bands and go for bold, beautiful gemstone disc rings. They look like candy, and you can wear one or many all at the same time. Even if you don’t change anything in your wardrobe this year, a big, glittering piece of jewelry will draw attention and make you stand out.

Shop our favorite finds here:
“Aegean” Round Stone Ring
“Ever Tiger Eye” Disk Ring
“Compass” Silver Ring

In anticipation of Fall, invest in a durable double-breasted coat. It is the perfect transitional piece and versatile enough to be dressed up or down. Pair with your favorite evening attire for a night on the town, and throw over your favorite button down and jeans for errands during the day.

Our favorite pairings with your double breasted coat:
“Amelie” Black Suede Sheath Dress
Hudson’s “Collin Skinny” Jeans
“Jepson” Black Faux Leather Leggings

You can also wear your coat as a dress, pairing with a turtleneck and tights when the weather is chilly, or go solo with just the coat and a chic pair of nude heels for a streamline effect. However you choose to style, be sure to include this classic into your wardrobe this Season.

They hide love handles, belly bulges, and front flab. They keep shirts properly tucked in. Best of all, they don’t give you a muffin top or show a plumber’s crack. No wonder that the high-waisted style is on the rise. Take a cue from celeb Selena Gomez and go “business” glam with a chic pair of sleek black high waisted wide leg slacks combined with a matching blouse tucked at the waist for a streamlined, slimming silhouette.

On casual days, grab a pair of high waisted denim jeans and pair with your favorite comfy tank and ankle boots for a no nonsense style.

Segue into the evening hours by pairing your high waisted pants, whether jeans or slacks, with an eye catching sequined top for nighttime glam.

The power of the spots is immediate: They can make the laziest outfit seem intentional. Leopard print has been around for decades, from Josephine Baker and Jean Harlow in the 30’s to Eartha Kitt and Bettie Page in the ’50s, and in the ’60s, it was Mrs. Robinson in “The Graduate” and Edie Sedgwick in Andy Warhol’s Factory. Keep running through time and you’ll see Elizabeth Taylor and Catherine Deneuve in the print. These days, it’s favored by Kate Moss, Anna Wintour, and Michelle Obama. Notice a trend here? These are all strong women with strong points of view.

It’s no surprise that at a time when the world at large is questioning what it means to be a strong woman, leopard print has popped up as a runway trend at shows from Prada to Givenchy. Looking at Hillary Clinton in her thigh-grazing coats and wide-leg pants is making us think about what it means to power dress in 2016.  Just as female leopards are the hunters of their prides, so do females in leopard print tend to be of the “Girl Boss” variety.

Take a look at our favorite “leopard print” styles you can get today:

And finally, you can’t go wrong with a chic midi boot for Fall. The trick to styling? Find your sweet spot: For those with a bulkier calf, aim for a boot that ends just under the widest part of the muscle. For those with slim limbs, a heel always helps.

Still clinging to your minis? Tights will even the whole thing out in a pinch for a classy streamlined effect.

Which Fall Fashion item will you include into your wardrobe collection this year? Make a point to add at least one NEW piece to usher in and celebrate the Autumn Season. Whether you choose Leopard Print, a Hobo Bag, or Midi Boots, you are sure to shine in style this Season.

And remember we here at Posh at Play want to remind you to
Be YOU, Be Fabulous, and always Be Feminine.

Whether you are attending the sartorial circus that is fashion month, are watching from a distance, or just want to look put together to welcome the new season, chances are you are in the market for some outfit inspiration. You’ve come to the right place. Take a few tips that we’ve chosen from NY fashion editors ensembles during fashion week this year and be inspired by the Fall runway looks.

(1) The Bright Bag Effect : Take The Yawn Out Of Neutrals

Whether clutch, crossbody, or satchel, it’s time to put a little color into your Fall wardrobe this Season. Instantly spruce up Fall’s neutral and darker colors with a pop of color. In a morning rush, fashion editors know that they can turn a simple outfit into an eye catching look simply by grabbing a brightly hued handbag.

From Hugo Boss to Alexander Wang to Rag & Bone, bright colors are all across the runway for Fall 2016. Jazz up a simple jeans and tee outfit with your brightly lit handbag accessory and shine in style this Season.

(2) Monochromatic Palette: One Color, Multiple Tones, Different Textures Equals A Slimming Polished Look

On the other side of the spectrum, fashion editors go with a monochromatic ensemble consisting of various shades and textures to create a slimming and polished effect. Look for items in the same color scheme for a slimming effect against the mixture of different materials from leather to lace to cotton to suede.

Spice up the romance in a “girly” pale pink monochromatic look this Fall. Mix and match Pantone’s 2016 Rose Quartz “color of the year” with a variety of patterns and textures.

Check out our favorite pink Fall wear options:
“Cameo” Pink Suede Shift Dress
“Marty” Kimono Jacket
“Emely” Pink Draped Satin Blouse

Camel, beige, and nude also gains attention this year. Mix things up by combining with a white or ivory color combo and intricate patterned accessories for an updated style.

Our favorite neutral monochromatic items for Fall:
“Lacy Sunday” Beige Textured Lace Blouse
“Cabana” Beaded Tie Dye Jersey Shirt
“Pascalla” Ultra Suede Ponte Leggings

A chic black and grey monochromatic ensemble creates a bit of drama for the Fall season with a nice mixture of textures from denim to leather to silk. Go from a grey tee by day to a silky sheer black by night.

(3)The Right Jacket Elevates Any Ensemble

Take your outfits from casual to edgy this Season. While the September weather fluctuates back and forth, fashion editors know a good coat or jacket is handy to have. When the weather is warmer, drape the coat over your shoulders for a cute “cape” look. As the breeze picks up, wear your coat normally to stay warm.

For the office, pair your coat over comfy pants and a classic pair of heels.

A basic “go to” tee and jeans outfit can go the next level by pairing with this Season’s chic blazer for a casual yet polished look. Will you go with a classic solid or try this Fall’s trending “text tees?”

Pair your jacket with our favorite classic skinny pant choices:
“Rogue Waves” Skinny Denim Jeans
“Bonded” Black Lace Skinny Pants
“Thompson” Mid Rise Skinny Jeans

Don’t forget a moto jacket to keep you polished and styled with an edgy effect for Fall. Your leather jacket can be combined with not only your casual outfits by day but also your nighttime dresses by night.

(4) The Classic Button Down – Polished But Not Too Prim

Whether tucked into classic skinny jeans, tied at the waist, or belted, fashion designers know you can’t go wrong with a traditional crisp button down top. Go with classic white or neutral or get into this Season’s style with a chic patterned print. Take a cue from fashion and celebrity icon Kim Kardashian with a half tucked in look. Why? It shows off your waist without looking too prim.

Or go with the “frat tuck” for business in the front but a party in the back. Insert your button down at the waistline, pull slightly for a loose effect, and let the tail trail behind.

Our favorite button down shirt styles to own today:

“Tropical Punch” Short Sleeve Button Down

(5) The Jean Roll

How to show off your favorite Fall heels and booties this Season? The”jean roll”
is your perfect solution while adding a polished look to the boyfriend jean.

Whether you take your favorite straight leg jeans and roll the cuffs yourself or grab a pair of cropped boyfriends, be sure to include this style into your wardrobe. If you are feeling extra ambitious, you can combine your favorite heels with a pair of ankle socks for a super trendy fashion designer street style.

And don’t forget, you can also wear your rolled jeans style paired with heels and a blazer for a business meeting and trade out your blazer for a sheer lacy top for a fun night out on the town. Allow your co-workers to see your relaxed side while still looking professional.

Check out our favorite rolled jean denim styles:
Hudson’s “The Leigh in City Kid” Cropped Denim Jeans
Citizen’s of Humanity’s “Dani” Capri Denim
Joe’s Jeans Rolled Cropped Jeans

(6)The Scarf Effect – Artfully Tied Can Make You Stand Out or Be A Stand In For Accessories

And finally, our favorite accessory for Fall that can add a bit of pizzaz to any outfit from casual to dressy is the colorful printed scarf. Tie your favorite scarf in a knot around your neck paired with your favorite jacket, wide leg pants, or sheath dress.

Another Fall trend we’ve been seeing street style in NYC is using your favorite printed scarf as a chic bangle bracelet. Fold the scarf in sections, wrap, and tie in a knot for an instant jewelry piece.

You can also use your scarf as a chic belt option, cinched around your favorite boyfriend jeans or tied across the waistline of a dress for dressier occasions.

Bad hair day? Have no fear. Cover up a messy do or bed head with a colorful printed scarf headband. Not just reserved for “Boho” this Season, you can rock this look in style from work to play. Simply fold scarf in sections and tie around head, securing with a few bobby pins and you are good to go

Don’t settle for less. Go ahead and elevate your Fall fashion this Season. Stealing secrets from this year’s top fashion designers, which look will you try? Whether you go for a standard button down, cropped boyfriend jeans, or colorful scarf, let your fashion do the talking. Make this Season’s trends fit YOUR style and let the real YOU shine through.

We here at Posh at Play encourage you this Season to
“Be YOU, Be Fabulous, and always Be Feminine.”

Steal from the boys this Season and go “boyfriend cool for back to school.” As the kids return to higher learning, we can also learn a thing or two about incorporating our male counterpart’s fashion into our daily fashion wardrobe. Why not style your emotionally evocative, newly borrowed togs into your own wardrobe? Throw their blazer on for a borrowed-from-the-boys effect, or snag a perfectly worn-in musky hoodie- and pair it with a dress for some date night–ready appeal. It might just keep that good mood going. Whether you have a partner or not, let our “boys club” fashion rock your world this Fall. Take a look at our favorite finds below.

When in doubt, grab your boyfriend’s jeans. Whether going to the office, running errands, or cocktails out with the girls, you can never go wrong with this style. You can borrow his or buy your own, but the great thing about this look is it flatters every figure from curvy to slim. Since the “boyfriend jean” tends to be looser, compliment the style by pairing with a fitted tank or tee.

Check out our Facebook page on how you can create your own distressed boyfriend jeans:

Or if you don’t have the time to create your own, just for you, we have a special sale going on NOW through Labor Day. Save $10 on our Collection Boyfriend jeans using coupon code BFJEANS at checkout. Simply click the link below to start shopping today!

Of course you can wear the look to the office (as long as they permit denim). Pair your look with a fitted top, chic overcoat, and chunky heels for a perfectly put together style.

Go a step further and segue into the evening hours like fashion icon Gigi Hadid by pairing your jeans with a chic pair of heels and a crop top. We like her body chain for extra appeal. Not quite so adventurous? Top with a sequined tank and you are ready to rock the night away.

However you choose to style, select one of our favorite “boyfriend jeans”:
“The Leigh” Cropped Distressed Jeans
“Mystique” Boyfriend Jeans
“Frenzy” Fun & Flirty Jeans

Late for work or a lunch meeting? Throw your bf’s blazer over a simple jeans and tee outfit for perfect polished poise. Add a pair of chic stilettos and you’re good to go. Heels not your style? Combine with ballerina flats or printed loafers for instant glam.

Actually, your blazer will also go perfectly with your “boyfriend jeans” and heels for an elegant uptown vibe. Sweep your hair into a chic topknot (no hair products required) and you are ready to hit the streets in style.

Weather still feels like summer? Throw your boyfriend blazer over a pair of cut offs and simple tee, accessorized with minimal jewelry and a clutch, you’ll look chic without trying too hard.

Even if you don’t have a “boyfriend” you can borrow from, try these chic jacket choices instead :
“East Meets West” Taupe Beaded Jacket
“Bolero” Black Stretch Ponte Jacket
“Tailored” Ivory Bolero Jacket

Nothing says “Fall” more than a cozy flannel button down. Snatch from your boyfriend’s closet– bonus points if a hint of husky musk scent remains. Feminize the plaid by pairing with your skinniest pair of denim jeans, a fitted tee, and accessorized with bangles and layered necklaces.

Weather a little toasty? Simply tie the plaid around your waist during the day. As the sun sets, you have the perfect “go to” cover up against the chilly night air.

And don’t just reserve your plaid shirt for casual affairs. Switch out your jeans for a vintage A line or pencil skirt to glam up your evening. Keep hair loose and flowing and makeup fresh and clean for a “no nonsense” style. Your bf wouldn’t want to trade you for anyone else.

How to achieve the “no makeup” makeup look? Click here for this handy tutorial to see how you can appear naturally beautiful in every way:

What about your BF’s jogger pants? Not classy? Think again. Throw on his jogging pants, paired with a tee cinched at the waist and a classy pair of heels and you are ready to rock the streets in style.

You can also pair your jogger pants with your boyfriend blazer for a more sophisticated look for the office or lunch out with the girls.

Get ready to shake things up as you pair your joggers with a chic crop top and heels to shimmy the night away.

Get our favorite jogger pants here if you don’t snatch your BF’s:
“Rylie” Black Satin Jogger Pants
“Quilted” Grey Jogger Pants
“Kenzie” Blue Distressed Skinny Sweat Pants

And finally, what can be more obvious than borrowing your BF’s plain white Tee. Pair with fitted copped or straight leg jeans accessorized with “girly” bangles and necklaces to bring that feminine touch.

Take a tip from celeb Miranda Kerr and go for street style cool while the weather stays warm in your BF’s white tee paired with black leather shorts and matching black leather purse. Accessorize with sneakers by day and segue into the evening hours by switching to strappy heels by night.

You can also pair your plain white Tee with a chic floral pencil skirt for cocktails at twilight or even combine with a maxi for more formal occasions. However you choose to fashion your BF’s tee, this style can go to work for you this Season.

Check out our favorite items to pair with a plain white Tee:
“Corra” Black Lace Midi Skirt
“Emily” Zebra Print Maxi Skirt
“Camden” Coral Lace Trimmed Silk Wide Leg Pants

From jeans to blazers to tees, you can steal from your boyfriend’s closet this year. It doesn’t have to be all casual when paired with the right accessories and given a “feminine” touch. Even if you don’t have a “significant other,” you can take a tip from the boys this Season and pair casual with classy.

And don’t forget, our special sale going on NOW through Labor Day. You can save $10 on our Collection Boyfriend jeans using coupon code BFJEANS at checkout.

Remember, we here at Posh at Play want YOU to remember to
Be YOU, Be Fabulous, and always Be feminine.

Lions and tigers and bears- Oh my! Roar into the new Season with animal inspired prints and patterns for Fall. From tops to dresses to skirts to accessories, we’ll show you our top picks that are just right for you. Peruse our choices below and start incorporating the trend into your wardrobe today.

One of the jungle’s fiercest felines roars onto the fashion scene this Season. Take a cue from Saint Laurent’s 2016 runway show and show off some of your boldness in a chic tiger print jacket paired over a silver sequin dress. For daytime glam, offset the busy pattern with a pair of solid black slacks and a silky white tank while you are on your way to conquer your “jungle” this year.

We like Kate Bosworth’s take on the print trend in a comfy “tiger” tee and shorts. Easily segue into the cooler Season ahead by pairing with your favorite boyfriend jeans by day and suede trimmed maxi skirt by night. Or, take things up a notch with a cool clean tiger print sheath dress, carrying you all the way from work in the morning to cocktails in the evening.

Like a more subtle approach? How about accessorizing with a tiger print handbag, scarf, or jewelry? Perfect for the woman who wants to keep up with the trends in a more conservative style.

And finally, if all that is a little much, why not go for “tiger” print nail art at your next trip to the salon? You can also do it yourself at home with our handy “how to” video here:

However you choose, be bold and loud this Season in tiger print.

For those of you willing to walk on the wild side, Africa’s inspired zebra print is the pattern for you. Delight in style with a feminine flowing silk dress. We like the updated look shown above paired over a pair of cropped jogger pants, casual yet glamorous accessorized with strappy heels.

Get our favorite “zebra” print dress styles here:
“Sequin” Printed Sleeveless Dress
“Blouson” Sequin Mini Dress

Or, you might prefer as silky maxi skirt paired perfectly with a simple button down or fitted tank on warmer days.

Zebra print doesn’t have to JUST be black and white. Branch out into a multi-color striped style as well. You can pair your look with a lace kimono while the weather’s still warm and switch to a fur wrap as the Season changes.

Our favorite color zebra striped fashion:
“Emily” Pink Zebra Striped Maxi Skirt
“Can’t Be Tamed” Cabana Tunic Top

“Slither” your way through Fall in a chic reptile print patterned outfit this year. From neutrals to brights, from dresses to pants, from shoes to purses, this print is sure to add some shimmer to your style.

Check out our favorite “neutral” color reptile wear:
“Nikko” Faux Leather Snake Print Pants
“Annis” Reptile Print Romper

Don’t just stick to natural snakeskin colors either. Look for the print also in deep yellows, blues, and reds. Whether you choose to accessorize with a reptile belt, clutch, or bangle, or opt for a printed dress, shirt, or pants, you won’t want to miss this versatile trend.

Try our favorite color snakeskin fashion items below:
“Reptile” Lime Printed Palazzo Pants
“Lise” Blue Reptile Print Jersey Dress
“Fatima” Red Printed Jumpsuit

Roar into Fall with the Season’s most popular print pattern. Suitable for any occasion from the office to errands to cocktail hour, the silky leopard blouse is the perfect solution for you. Mean “business” paired with a sleek pencil skirt or trendy wide leg pants for lunch with the Boss.

Other favorite “leopard” options to mix and match:
“On the Prowl” Vintage Short Sleeve Shirt
“Martina” Lime Green Tank Top
Joe’s Jeans Cropped White Leopard Print
Hudson’s “Streetside” Super Skinny Jeans

You can certainly start wearing your blouse NOW combined with your favorite summer cutoffs. Accessorize with a pair of comfy ballerina flats or go glam in classy ankle heels and matching leather handbag, also trending this Fall.

Segue into the Fall season with a favorite pair of skinny jeans, chic jacket, and knee high boots, perfect as the weather cools.

Favorite trends you can pair your blouse with:
“Leigh” Cropped Distressed Jeans
“Carly” Straight Leg Jeans
“AC Collection” Flare Leg Jeans

Don’t just limit the trend to blouses only. Step out in style like celeb Kim Kardashian in a chic full body leopard dress. We like her simple yet classy approach. With unfussy hair, minimal jewelry, and nude colored heels, she lets the dress do the talking and you can do the same.

Check out our favorite leopard print dress styles here:
“Cale” Jersey Wrap Dress
“Bright Young Things” Bodycon Dress
“Vintage” One Shoulder Peplum Dress
Zada” Fuchsia Wrap Dress

Or go the subtle approach and bring out the print to accentuate your everyday style. Add a little “sass” with cute comfy ballerina flats perfectly paired with your favorite jeans or pants and crisp button down. Hold all your necessities in a chic envelope clutch, or dress up a simple jeans and tee combo with a flowing silk scarf.

However you choose to wear it, leopard is your look this Fall.

And finally, has all this fashion talk made you hungry? Well grab yourself a cup of coffee and make a cute yet tasty “leopard” milk bread loaf. Here’s how to do it:

(1) Make one batch each of your favorite vanilla and chocolate dough.
(2) Refrigerate the cocoa dough, roll it into cylinders, and wrap it in vanilla dough
(3) Layer the rolls on top of each other in a bread tin and bake for the appropriate baking time.
*For added nutrition, we recommend eating this bread with Nutella

Invite your best girlfriends over with your scrumptious creation, or enjoy it all to yourself as you peruse Fall’s favorite fashion. And while you’re at it, include a couple of leopard print coffee or tea cups as well to set the mood.

Well there you have it. Which jungle creature do YOU identify with most this Season? Will it be tiger, zebra, reptile, or leopard? No matter which pattern you choose, we here at Posh at Play encourage you to be “fierce” and fabulous wherever your path takes you. You can be the “king” of your realm this year just like the rulers of the jungle, and no need to back down from what makes you YOU.
We want you to always remember to:
Be you, Be fabulous, and always Be feminine.

1864c9b40f7fdad84a58f14959c624aaWINTER WHITE

One of our top holiday looks trending this Season is winter white from head to toe. Stay with the Season, and look for luscious ivory and off-white colors rather than Summer’s crisp white hue. For your next holiday party, we love Liberty Garden’s NEW long sleeve mixed media ivory sheath dress paired with Menbur’s matching ivory ankle strap sandals and Topshop’s “Polar Bear” faux fur ivory overcoat. We also like Hale Bob’s romantic ivory embroidered mesh lace dress or the ivory floral A line dress, flattering on “Apple” shaped figures. Or, go maxi style in Liberty Garden’s “Boho” ivory embroidered strapless dress or Hale Bob’s classic stretch lace dress with half slip. For more casual occasions, go with Hale Bob’s ivory ultra suede leggings and ivory lace sweater knit long sleeve shirt, topped with Liberty Garden’s ivory terry knit lace jacket. However you choose to style, be sure to include one our favorite head to toe color trends this Winter.

Our second favorite holiday party style trending this Season is plaid. Go with a fresh, updated look for 2015 with a sleek plaid midi pencil skirt, or bundle up in a cozy plaid wool jacket. You can even accessorize with tiny plaid stud earrings or a chic plaid crossbody bag. Get a similar look as above with Topshop’s wool blend midi length skirt paired with Hale Bob’s black long sleeve embroidered top and black ankle strap heels from Steve Madden. Bundle up against Winter’s chilliest weather in Ann Taylor’s brushed wool blend plaid coat or go for holiday cheer in Trina Turk’s double breasted emerald green plaid jacket. If plaid isn’t quite your clothing style, simply accessorize with Coach’s mini red plaid crossbody bag or go for just a hint with plaid stud earrings or classic plaid watch from Burberry. Bold or subtle. Be sure to include a little plaid in your Winter wardrobe this year.

Not just for Spring anymore, Winter is the perfect time to let the flowers come out and play. The key to fashioning florals for Winter is to look for darker prints and longer sleeves, or accessorize your dress with heavier coats, scarves, furs and boots. For a day party with the girls, try  Hale Bob’s pink and white bold floral print maxi dress topped with a red rabbit fur vest and black booties from Via Spiga. At your next holiday office party, wow them in style with Betsey Johnson’s floral print stretch midi dress accessorized with emerald green satin T-strap sandals and a “Fall Follies” embellished flower bangle all from the designer herself. Dance the night away at your next holiday cocktail party with Hale Bob’s flattering gold sleeveless floral sequin dress paired with a matching copper sequin jacket and Topshop’s laser cut gold sandalsMaxi or mini. Sequined or satin. Add a lovely floral dress to your holiday party style this Season.

Even though Winter is upon us, don’t rule out your favorite pair of shorts at your next holiday party. As with florals, the key is to layer your pair of shorts with heavier knits, wools, and furs, and on extra cold days, a pair of wool tights. Get a similar “Winter White” look as pictured above with Liberty Garden’s NEW ivory lace skort paired with Hale Bob’s ivory lace sweater knit blouse classic ivory jacket from Shopbop, and a “Boho” floppy hat from Eugenia Kim. Or go with our other favorite “Mad for Plaid” look in a frosty blue plaid romper from Soft Joie layered with soft wool blend tights from Falke and trendy suede fringe booties from Sam Edelman. If lace and plaid don’t please you, take a look at our wide range of shorts in all patterns and styles at our online store Posh at Play. There’s one to suit you perfectly at your next holiday gathering.

From Elie Saab to Alice + Olivia, designers this year brought us a new shade of red – bright tangerine. What better time than the holidays to try on one of this Season’s top trending colors. Stand out from among the rest at your next office party in a Phillip Lim sleeveless silk ruffle dress or go for a more tailored look in Black Halo’s tangerine shift dress. Off set the bright color with nude ankle strap sandals from Suart Weitzman and a bead and crystal clutch by Natasha Couture, or head to toe color with tangerine suede pumps from Gianvito Rossi and a matching leather clutch from Rag and Bone.

You are sure to dazzle and shine for your next formal affair in a sweeping floor length tangerine color maxi dress. We’ve picked one out just for you. Try Hale Bob’s stretch satin halter maxi dress paired with shimmering crystal embellished pumps from Badgley Mischka and dainty crystal drop earrings. Be the “belle 0f the ball” this Season in bright tangerine.

Lastly, as featured in Harper’s Bazaar magazine’s top party picks, we couldn’t agree more with unexpected dynamic lace paired with denim. Suitable and chic for any holiday gathering, what better way to spruce up durable denim this Season than with an elegant, vintage Victorian lace blouse. We like this updated look with pencil skirt and lace up booties, perfect for the office party, dinner with the parents, or the annual holiday get together. Our top picks include Hale Bob’s supple satin and sultry black lace blouse or go with black stretch floral lace tunic paired with AC Collection’s faded denim pencil skirt and Alexandre Birman black lace up booties. Change up your style at another holiday occasion with a trendy midi length denim skirt from Frame Denim or go with relaxed cropped denim pants from Citizen’s of Humanity. And you could always switch things up by topping Hale Bob’s ivory or grey lace midi skirt with a tie back denim top from Nicholas. However you choose to style, try the denim and lace combo this year.
